The 2026 Hwaseong Luna Light Festival, hosted by the City of Hwaseong and organized by the Hwaseong Cultural Foundation for Tourism, takes place at Dongtan Lake Park on October 31. The Light Playground and Light Gallery open at 1 p.m., and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. the main program features a drone show in which 500 drones fill the night sky over the lake and a costume disco party, followed as the final act by the Luna Show, the music fountain performance that is Dongtan Lake Park’s signature night show. Dongtan Lake Park is reachable on foot or by bus from SRT and GTX-A Dongtan Station, and is a leading lake park in the southern Seoul metropolitan area, within 30 minutes of Seoul Station. Crowds are large on the evening of the event, so public transportation is recommended, and temperatures by the lake fall quickly on an autumn night, so keep warm. For visitors having ophthalmology or dental care or a vision correction consultation in the Dongtan and Byeongjeom area, the lake park makes a nice course for a light walk before or after the appointment. Exposure to strong night lights and cold wind should be reduced right after a procedure, so when you book a hospital in the Hwaseong area, MediQueen also advises on a visit timing that takes recovery time into account.
