The preparation steps for a visit that includes a year-end checkup, plus what to confirm before entry: the temporary K-ETA exemption (through 31 Dec 2026) and the e-Arrival Card.
Year-End Visit Checklist — Health Checkup and Entry Prep
Here is a preparation order for those visiting Korea at year-end with a health checkup.
STEP 1. Book the checkup/consultation (3–4 weeks before departure)
- Check packages and available dates. Hospitals may close on some dates around the new year.
- Checkup items and costs follow what the hospital advises and may vary with your individual condition.
STEP 2. Confirm entry requirements (before departure)
- K-ETA: it is temporarily waived for certain nationalities, with the exemption announced through 31 December 2026. What applies afterwards has not yet been announced, so if your trip spans the new year, check the latest from official channels such as the Korea Tourism Organization or the Ministry of Justice before leaving. Eligible nationalities and conditions must be checked against your own passport.
- e-Arrival Card: an electronic arrival form submitted online from 72 hours before entry.
STEP 3. Checkup day and afterwards
- Prepare fasting time, current medications and past results in advance.
- Discuss any follow-up plan after you return home with the hospital at your results consultation.
